A receipt, 22 November 1780, was sent by Jefferson to Mary Lewis for funds collected by her in Albemarle County, Va., for support of soldiers. A form letter, 8 August 1780, from Martha Jefferson, Richmond, Va., forwards a patriotic proposition sent to Martha Washington, by "our sisters of Pennsylvania," and asks the recipient to circulate it.
